Here you can find information on Traditional Shotokan karate
classes in Chicago for adults and children. What's in our name -
"Chicago Kitoh Shotokan - Sugiyama Ryu Karate Do" (formerly Peterson
Park Karate)? Well, "Kitoh" means to throw ki or our internal
energy, while "Shotokan" is the specific style of karate. The
"Kitoh" part of our name comes from our unique methodology of
instruction based upon the principals that we have practiced under
the most innovative karate instructor of our time, Sensei Shojiro
Sugiyama.
PLEASE NOTE
OUR NEW LOCATION !!!
We will be holding 2 Special Review Sessions for current students
on Saturday July 24th and Saturday August 28th. Potental
new students who are interested in finding out more are welcome to

us for additional information.

The aim of this program is to provide a caring and safe
environment in which individuals can constructively
channel their energy and develop self-discipline, positive
attitudes, balance, agility, coordination and respect for others as
well as themselves. One will also enjoy the benefits of
maintaining fitness and endurance through a variety of exercises in

their own strength and acquire a sense of personal accomplishment,
which will reflect in every aspect of their lives. Read more about
